In relation to interactive documentary:
Researcher, lecturer and producer of interactive documentary.
As a researcher, my doctoral thesis (PhD) is dedicated to the study of the interactive documentary and to interactive forms of nonfiction in general, ("The interactive documentary as a new audiovisual genre. Approach to proposed definition and taxonomy and analysis model for the evaluation, design and production", UPF 2007-2012). I have published several articles and presented papers and activities on this topic in different international conferences, including the first symposium on interactive documentary (“i-docs Symposium”, Bristol 2011). I research for MIT Open Documentary Lab and I'm member of the “i-docs Group” (co-editor of “i-docs.org” portal), the first research group and international conference dedicated to interactive documentary study (2011-2012).
As a teacher, I have helped to start - as a consultant and teacher - the first line of interactive documentary for the Masters Degree in Creative Documentary at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2011). I have also taught the first seminars of analysis of this genre (“La Casa del Cine”, 2009-2012). I have supervised several projects - theoretical and prototypes - of this nature during my seven years leading the direction of project management of the Audiovisual Communication Degree at the University of Vic (Multimedia Specialty).
As a producer, I've been producing this type of formatin in Spain and Catalonia tfrom the point of view of education and training (Universitat de Vic, 2009-2012).
I have supervised several interactive documentaries in its first phase (PFC UVic) such as "En un xip multicolor" and have directed and co-directed several of these projects (current phase) such as“Societat 2.0”, “Metamentaldoc” and “I tu qui ets?”, among others.
I'm also the director of the observatory platform InterDOC (2011). This project combines the three areas described: research through the observatory, incentive the production and is a tool to complement didactic lectures and presentations. Interesting contributions to the field:
- Original framework to study i-docs, published articles and paper presentations at international conferences.
- Producer directing or co-directing interactive documentary in the Latin scope with students and/or professional.
- Member of the new documentary laboratory at MIT and the first group of research and international conference dedicated exclusively to this genre (i-Docs).
- Advisor and professor of the first line of Masters Degree and Seminars on the study of this kind of format in Spain.
- Founder and director of InterDOC, the first observatory to study non-interactive fiction.
